Pineapples are considered an expression of welcome and symbolize—friendship, hospitality, and warmth. It’s what we want guests to feel when they experience the restaurant, and it's how I want clients to feel when they work with me. In my house are a couple pineapple related items that remind me of this value. One of them is a pineapple printed notebook that lays on my desk. In its pages I keep new ideas, resources, and AHA moments. I am now sharing some of those pages with you. This digital version of the Pineapple Notebook will contain tips and trick for business and home.
New Appointment Booking Tool That's Rocking My World
Grab a cup of coffee, let's learn about a new appointment booking tool.
How do you normally setup your appointments? Have you used Doodle? Do you email a list of possible dates? Emailing back and forth with various dates can take a lot of time. I had been using a scheduling tool that's changed the way I book appointments— and I am loving it. By using Acuity Scheduling I can list the open time and dale slots I have available. I can then either direct people to my website, Instagram account, or send them the link. My set calendar is available so they can view potential dates and compare it to their busy schedules to find the best fit. Viola! They choose the date and click "Book." I then get an email that the date is booked and can followup with confirmation. Easy peasy. You can setup a trial for free or if you have SquareSpace's Buisness Plan you get Acuity for free. Want to try it?
Here is the step-by-step tutorial I have created for you:
Go to https://acuityscheduling.com
Click on "Sign Up Now"
Enter your email (the one where you want to get notifications of booked appointments) and a password.
Enter the name of your business and your name. You then have an option to enter more than one person. So, if you have multiple people in your business (that customers can book,) you can add them here. If it's just you, click the green button that says "It's just me."
Click on the green button that says "New Type of Service." Here you will create the type of appointment you want to offer. For example, I setup 30-minute coffee meetings for free consultations.
Enter the name of the appointment type, the time, and the price. My price is free for 30-minutes so I keep this field at $0.00. You can upload a logo here or your photo. You also have the option of making this a public booking or private. To add this link to your website and Instagram you will need to choose public. If you want a link to send via email only you can choose private.
Now click on the green button toward the top of the page that says "Set up your calendar availability." Here you can setup regular hours. If you have hours and days that vary, uncheck the box that says "I have regular hours every week."
Then click on the green button that says "Save to switch to specific days."
You can now click on a date to add your times, then click set hours. Continue until you add all available dates.
Back at the top, click on "customize appearance." Here you can add a description, change the week's start date etc. Make any changes here and click "Save."
You can now connect this to your website, Facebook, etc. Click on the "Add to Website" button to grab the link. Now you can add the link to your website or Instagram account.
Adding the Booking Option Button to Instagram
Go to your Instagram account and click on "Edit Profile."
Under Business Information choose "Contact Options." Then click on "Add" then Acuity Scheduling. Then paste your link from Acuity.
If you go back to your profile you will now see a "book" option on your Instagram account. Clients can now book an appointment on your Instagram account.
